It is common to see headlines that cite the aging population for one reason or another. It is almost as common to see news of medical or pharmaceutical breakthroughs offering new hope of improving quality of life or even extending life span altogether.

As active participants in the medtech industry, we find ourselves deeply connected to both sides of these stories. One of the bright spots for many of us is that many of our parents, grandparents, and older adults, in general, are evidence for 60 being the new 40. Our seniors are now holding on to youth. We applaud that and celebrate it at every turn.

Still, it is exciting and comforting to know that while at some point, a fall from the fast lane may strike, treating ailments may get a little easier, thanks to new concepts in RFID, NFC, and other tracking technology.

In the same vein that OHP working mom, Amber Schlautmann, shared her excitement over the prospect of drone-delivered prescriptions, this article from Healthcare Packaging inspired us, too. There has never been a better time to be part of the medtech world.
