Protecting the Moments That Matter: Gabriela’s Story

Share:

When Gabriela was two years old, she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes in children is a diagnosis that impacts not just the child but the entire family. For her mother, Angela, that diagnosis marked the beginning of years defined by constant vigilance. Days revolved around blood sugar checks and insulin calculations. Nights were defined by alarms and the fear of dangerous overnight lows that can happen without warning.

Like so many families living with Type 1 diabetes, Angela and her loved ones learned to adapt. But adapting often meant exhaustion, waking up multiple times each night, and never fully resting, even when Gabriela was asleep. For eight years, this was their reality. But, on Gabriela’s 10th birthday, everything changed.

Gabriela received a Medtronic 780G insulin pump with a continuous glucose sensor. The system automatically monitors glucose levels and adjusts insulin delivery in real time, both day and night. For Angela, it was more than a medical device. She describes it as a “game changer” and a “life saver.”

For the first time in years, Gabriela could sleep safely through the night and her family could, too. The fear that once hovered over every evening began to fade, replaced by something they hadn’t felt in a long time: peace of mind.

At Oliver, we are proud to support innovations like the Medtronic 780G by delivering packaging solutions that help ensure these life-changing devices arrive safely and reliably in the hands of patients who depend on them. While our work with packaging happens behind the scenes, its impact shows up in very real ways. In quiet nights, confident caregivers, and children free to focus on being kids.

Because when we help protect the products that save lives, we’re also helping protect the moments that matter most.
